A Royal Connection
I was able to launch my monthly allotment of Vendoo items before the November 3 deadline, focusing on the Federico 2024 collection. I was able to post everything from 2024 except for three pairs of onyx earrings which I will work on next week once my monthly supply is replenished. This week's offerings include two amazing turquoise statement necklaces, three gorgeous pairs of turquoise statement earrings, a pair of onyx earrings, mini cluster earrings in turquoise, purple spiny oyster shell and orange spiny oyster shell, two rings, a vintage dragonfly pin, butterfly cuff bracelet and four special pieces which are featured in the main photo.
These pieces (three radiant hearts and one radiant cross) are one of a kind prototypes created by Federico in conjunction with a special art project with King Charles III of England. Federico showed us his initial drawings of the prototypes as well as some photos of he and King Charles working together on the project. It was really cool, I should have asked for copies of the photos! These pieces are all pins / pendants.
I posted some Heidi Daus pieces as well including this necklace entitled Dogwood Posey and this gorgeous hinged cuff bracelet named Glorious Garden. Unfortunately there is a tiny crystal missing from the bottom border of the bracelet but I decided to post it anyway (revealing its condition of course) and I will plan to fix it when I return to Scottsdale. All of my loose crystals, glue etc are there.
I listed these two Heidi Daus necklaces as well and they both sold quickly to the same person on Poshmark. This means three of the five Heidi Daus pieces I posted are already spoken for. I need to get some more out there as the season for sparkly jewelry is rapidly approaching!
I accepted an offer on Mercari on the amazing Our Lady Of Guadalupe bracelet and it is on its way to North Carolina. Within hours of the sale, another Mercari customer asked if I had another one! I also sold an Navajo-made amber ring and accepted an offer on a Federico floral cuff bracelet on eBay, a watch with Navajo tips on Etsy and accepted offers on a pair of Federico earrings from last year and Mother's Stephen Dweck pendant on Poshmark. I also sold one of the Purple Mojave butterfly rings and a pair of Mother's Navajo earrings directly from my website. I have two butterfly rings remaining as a person who claimed one did not pay and ignored my messages. Overall it was a great fourth quarter selling week so many thanks to Vendoo for creating their amazing crosslisting software to help make it possible!
Big bummer to report on this belt buckle though. Two days after I shipped it, the buyer messaged me frantically asking me to undo the deal. Apparently her 12 year old daughter purchased it and she cannot afford to keep it. I was so angry that she let that happen I was really ready to give her a piece of my mind but I calmed down and said she could return it but I would need to deduct the shipping cost I paid. The records say she received it last Wednesday and I have not heard anything from her since. If she turned it around Thursday I should have received it on Saturday. I did a little poking around online and one of the discussion groups said this could be a possible scam. This is not my first rodeo though and I would never issue a refund until the item is in my hands.
I have a few more Native American and Mexican new arrivals in the works which should come in next week. Since it is a small lot, I decided to send it to Mount Prospect so it is not sitting around in my front entry in Scottsdale for a week or more. On Friday, I made my first purchases from a Whatnot live sale. It was really fast and furious because the auctions were only ten seconds in length, but if someone bids, the timer goes back up to ten seconds again. The same person kept bidding against me - I let her get some items when the price climbed to more than I wanted to pay and she did the same. I can hardly remember what I won but it is a total of 20 pieces. I did not realize that the address on file with Whatnot is Scottsdale so I will be able to check them out once we arrive. I was concerned about delivery because a signature was required but USPS to the rescue! They sent me an email to let me know I could add my signature electronically. I was concerned that USPS would not hold onto the package until I was able to pick it up.
Combined with lots of estate sale work, this was plenty to fill up the week!
We will be heading into our final week and a half before departure so it is definitely time to get packing! First step will be to pack up the garage. All of the jewelry will be going with me except some budget-friendly and higher-end sterling silver pieces for the caravan. I will leave all of the rings here as well as they have been so popular. I have about 30 shoe boxes of jewelry in Scottsdale which need to be polished and priced so I will be taking the other jewelry with us in order to try my hand at live sales. The clothing will be going with us as well. I have my eye on some adorable T-shirts and sweatshirts and once I order them my little Western boutique will be good to go. I have a plan for how I want to pack the car and let Kuochun know I would like to pack it next weekend so it is not last minute.
Until next time, I am not sure if I will have the chance to do a blog post next week but I am going to try!
