Big Weekend October 1-4

It is hard to believe that September has almost come to an end and Fall will soon be in full swing. I have been going on lots of potential estate sale appointments and October is shaping up to be an exciting month. There is no "bad" time to have an estate sale but the first weekend of October is my favorite sale weekend of the year. The weather is usually delightful and it is a great time to get a jump start on holiday shopping.

We have three great sales next weekend, plus the Fall pop-up sale at home base. Our Elmhurst sale will be held in a stunning more than 4,500 square foot home and features beautiful quality contemporary furniture for every room, home decor, kitchenwares, useful household items and much more. I always say that estate sales are not only for fancy mansions filled with antiques. Many people love newer furnishings in a transitional style (between traditional and modern) and our Elmhurst sale epitomizes this. However, antique and vintage items are right up there in popularity due to their quality and style and we have this covered with our Glenview and Wheaton sales. There is vintage decorator furniture and home decor, antiques and collectibles including a charming 10 cent slot machine pictured above as well as a huge Coca-Cola sign and so much more, too much to list here! I am loving the oval mosaic side table in shades of black, turquoise and white with brass trim and the pair of white wrought iron plant stands that will be up for sale in Glenview. The plant stands just need two pieces of glass and they will be good to go. These are preliminary photos, once we have everything staged updated photos will be posted to the ads. There are many more cool items to see at these two sales!

Due to Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday estate sale meetings which spilled into the evenings, I was unable to post any new jewelry this week. Next week I will be preparing for the pop-up sale at home base to open next Thursday so I may have to resume posting after the sale has ended. That means there will be even more to see at the pop-up! I normally try and schedule estate sales close to home base on pop-up sale weekends in order to make it convenient for our customers to visit all of our locations. However this did not work out this Fall. Although the sale locations are scattered next weekend, they are all awesome. It is worth taking the challenge to visit them all. Time to start thinking about holiday shopping and entertaining!

Monday I will begin to set up the pop-up sale and will post photos and a video once everything is ready. The breezeway is 90% ready to go and is filled with vintage costume jewelry. I have decided to move the Heidi Daus jewelry out and keep it all vintage in the breezeway. One of the large display cases in the breezeway is loaded with designer and signed pieces. The garage will feature sterling silver jewelry from vintage to new including all of the Native American and Mexican pieces which are in the online store. Most likely there will be Tucson Gem Show finds from Thailand, the Tibet jewelry may be out at our other sales.

There will also be sterling silver and costume jewelry from TV shopping networks JTV, HSN and QVC. Jewelry will be available in all price points including reasonably priced sterling silver jewelry at $30 or less per piece and costume jewelry at $12 or less per piece after the 50% discount. We have our collection of bags of vintage glass beads and Swarovski crystals which are 50% off as well. The areas are accented with vintage home decor and we will get our vintage Christmas jewelry out too. If time allows we will display quality name brand clothing for men and women as well as handbags, hats, scarves and more. I will do my best to move mountains during this time to get it all displayed! There are six months worth of jewelry finds that no one has yet seen. Speaking of which I have my work cut out for me so I better get hopping!
