This beautiful vintage Navajo-made sterling silver necklace offers a fresh interpretation of the classic squash blossom design with elegant craftsmanship and vibrant natural stones. The necklace features six three-petaled blossoms on each side, each with a bezel set turquoise cabochon framed by twist wire and accented with a sculptural leaf and raindrop. Instead of the traditional naja, the centerpiece is a coordinating two-stone pendant adorned with a pair of large leaves at the top and three raindrops, giving the design a distinctive and balanced look. The turquoise stones display a brilliant blue color with brown matrix and occasional quartz inclusions, strongly suggesting Pilot Mountain turquoise. Seven millimeter bench beads and a traditional hook and double eye closure complete the piece, which is strung on fine chain. Unhallmarked, as is common with vintage Native American jewelry, this necklace is a striking and wearable example of classic Navajo design.
