This is a fabulous sterling silver statement brooch by the world-famous Mixtec artist Federico Jimenez, purchased directly from the artist. The brooch features an extraordinary dragonfly motif encrusted with an array of individually bezel set stones including rich purple amethyst cabochons for the body, flower petal accents on each wing with peridot centers, faceted amethysts on the antennae and wing details, and shimmering clear faceted stones throughout the wings. One garnet stone—distinctive for its deep red hue—appears on the right wing in the upper right cluster of six stones, adding a subtle signature twist. A converter with a tube and bail is included so the piece can be worn as a necklace as well. The reverse is stamped with Federico’s hallmark and STERLING at the junction of the body and the left wing.
