This wonderful sterling silver statement pendant by the talented Navajo artist Rosella Paxton beautifully blends bold form with intricate detailing. At the center is a striking teardrop-shaped Pilot Mountain turquoise stone, high bezel set and framed with a classic twist wire border that draws the eye inward. Surrounding the centerpiece are individually bezel set Hubei turquoise cabochons, each separated by graceful curly ques and alternating stamped and smooth flat raindrops, creating wonderful movement and texture throughout the design. The bail is richly decorated with stampings and accented with two distinct stamped raindrops, and it comfortably accommodates beads up to 16 millimeters in size. Stamped RP STERLING on the back, this pendant is a strong yet elegant contemporary example of Rosella Paxton’s silversmithing.
Condition Note: there is a hairline crack in the main stone which runs diagonally at about the midpoint from the left about 2/3 of the way to the right. The area feels a bit rough but the stone is extremely secure in the setting.
